LUCY DACUS AND TRIBECA AND BEYOND
Lucy Dacus "Hot & Heavy"
Lucy Dacus: Spotlight
In 2021, the sophomore spring of the pandemic, Lucy Dacus was poised to drop her newest album — Home Video. Seeking help concepting, shooting, and delivering a wide array of content, Lucy connected with Director/Photographer Jordan Rodericks, of Spang TV, for the broadcast, social, and official music video content. The resulting films were distributed through the various channels on album’s press run. Outlets include: Apple Music, CBS, ABC, NPR, KEXP, and Matador’s affiliated social networks.
With all the creative tools and choreographic motivations outlined, Jordan’s creative connection with Lucy yielded a variety of intricate and far reaching performances — culminating in the Tribeca Festival 2022 Official Selection for Hot & Heavy — the album’s inaugural single and the music video directed by Lucy Dacus, Marin Leong, and Jordan Rodericks.

Hot & Heavy (Animatic)
Animatic Proof of Concept
For an insider’s view, here’s a version of Hot & Heavy created as a conceptual rendition. Often in the creative process materials are created and re-created to give the all of the participants in the process the best idea of the end goal.
In this instance Director Jordan Rodericks and Cinematographer David Muessig put together the shot list in a full blown edit. Lucy’s performance is best, but this is still a joy.
